6 Things To Learn From An Extrovert

First introduced by Carl Jung, extraversion is a fascinating personality trait with various interlinked interpretations. In today’s times, it is considered to be an ideal characteristic for anything and everything. Extroverts are believed to be well accepted and socially competent people. Extraversion is synonymous with emotionally rich experiences, therefore, a much more diverse lifestyle. Everything comes with its own set of pros and cons. A few benefits of being an extrovert are-

  1. Awesome at Networking– Extroverts love being in public, interacting with people and gaining from the experiences. They don’t have social anxiety or awkwardness which makes them amicable. They gel up easily and know how to keep in touch with the relations they keep building over time.
  2. Highly Optimistic- Extroverts have an extremely positive outlook towards the world in general. They are highly enthusiastic about trying new things and meeting new people. With a natural proclivity to see the good in everything, these people put in efforts to see the good in bad
  3. Risk Taking Ability- Extroverts have a different brain wiring and adrenaline mechanism, to be honest. Given the fact that they find it easy to fit themselves in any social situation and befriend almost anyone, they have a high self-esteem which makes them believe in themselves. This belief combined with the optimistic perspective is what makes them risk takers.
  4. Conscientiousness- Since extroverts have social adaptability, they have a natural eye to notice and observe things in a better manner. They know what to talk and where to talk. This makes them appreciate people and their efforts a lot more as compared to the others, thereby, enhancing their likeability.
  5. High chances of work success- Due to their behaviour people around them are generally happy. Imagine someone who appreciates peers, is optimistic in perspective, works hard, doesn’t mind taking risks and also keeps the atmosphere light, isn’t the chance of this person being a superhit at work, obvious?
  6. Handle tough social situations better- Due to the focus of extroverts being communication, they do not shy away from talking. This makes the situation easier because one, you are not piling up your emotions internally, two, while talking you might actually come across a solution from someone else which you weren’t capable of thinking yourself.

Extroverts have a genuine curiosity about the world and people. Their warm nature and zero stranger intimidation makes them super likeable and the life of social gatherings. There are a lot of people who are introverts and are not so willingly social. This might happen due to some childhood incidents, how they have been brought up or their ecosystem in general. Growing up and becoming an introvert is not a sin. But as always, everything has its pros and cons. Knowing the advantages of being an extrovert and identifying the barriers within themselves, it becomes easier for introverts to overcome them.

Now the question arises as to why would an introverted person want to alter his ways. It is simply because it is professionally and personally beneficial. You are good as you are but you can definitely become better. At the end of the day, in every walk of life, in every field, it boils down to communication and expression. The better you are at it, improved are your chances of succeeding. The above mentioned benefits and traits are not hard to achieve, provided you really want to try.

There is no harm in being an introvert, but there is also no harm in adopting the goods from others. Because life, in the end, is nothing but to keep improving yourself.
